Fall is already passing by at the speed of light. While I always wish September lasted longer, I couldn’t be happier about it being October. Halloween to Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year –  Not to mention I leave for Disneyworld with Claudia in 6 days!

Here’s what my month looked like on Instagram!

So I somehow convinced my boyfriend to let me do his makeup. On camera…and publish it on the World Wide Web. Naturally, I had to go all in. Gold smokey eye, big fake lashes, contour, and a bright red lip. Since today is National Boyfriend Day, I figured it was the perfect day to share it with you!
He was such a good sport – in fact, he was more still and patient than many of the clients I’ve worked on.

Make sure to give the video a thumbs up if you want him to do my makeup next!

The key products used were the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe eyeshadow palette, the new Lise Watier Teint Velours foundation and powder, the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Vol. II palette, and the new limited edition Tarte Blush Bazaar palette! All products are listed in the video!

Morphe Me Subcription – September Brush Review

Today’s tutorial is a quick Get Ready With Me! This is my go-to look, especially for the summer. It’s fast, easy, and helps make you look fresh and healthy! For me, this is a look I automatically go to when I’m in a rush or don’t feel like doing anything extravagant with my makeup.

Here are a few options to make applying this look quicker, if you’re really on a time crunch:

  • Skip the lash primer, and just apply your favourite mascara
  • Skip the liner – while this helps add some extra dimension to the eyes, it’s not always necessary!
  • Skip the cream highlight – or, just use cream highlight and skip the powder highlight. Layering definitely isn’t necessary, but if you’re a glow-addict like me, it’s just a quick extra step that helps me feel more glamorous!
  • Skip the lip liner/liquid lipstick, and opt for a nudey-pink gloss instead – this will give you a much softer, more natural look and will be much faster to apply

Becca’s newest addition is another highly anticipated collaboration with Jaclyn Hill. The Champagne collection palette has been all over social media, as her millions of followers have eagerly awaited its release.

There was an early limited release on May 17th (which sold out in 90 minutes!) before its official online release on May 26th, and its in-store release on June 16th.

The limited edition palette will be sold exclusively in Sephora stores and Sephora online, and retails for $59 Canadian ($52 USD)

The Champagne Collection Palette features 3 blushes (2 Mineral and 1 Luminous), and 2 Shimmering Skin Perfectors.

  • Rose Spritz: luminous “soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer” blush
  • Amaretto: (mineral) a “matte toasted almond” blush
  • Pamplemousse: (mineral)”matte warm coral pink” blush
  • Champagne Pop: with”soft white gold with pinky peach undertones” shimmering skin perfector
  • Prosecco Pop: “medium warm gold” shimmering skin perfector

The packaging is stunning, and I think in many ways perfectly represents Jaclyn Hill and her style. It’s chic, girly, and glamorous with it’s quite squared packaging and gold detailing. It’s one of those items you want to put on display at all times!

The pigmentation is amazing – smooth and pigmented with a soft and blendable texture. Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of the color selection, however I quickly came to love the shades. They are definitely unique, and offer a shade for each skintone which I think is fantastic. This is a stunning palette for the summer, and the shades can be blended & combined in so many different ways.

“Rose Spritz” is gorgeous, but very shimmery. If you have a lot of texture/acne, you may want to use a very light hand with this one – or use it as more of a blush booster by sweeping a tiny amount of it over another blush colour.

“Amaretto” is gorgeous as a bronzer, or as a warmer blush for medium-deep skin tones. It shows up very warm on camera, but is a bit more neutral in person.

“Pamplemousse” is a tone that is great for all skin tones and types! It looks a bit scary when swatches, but is beautiful when lightly dusted on the cheeks with a fluffy brush.

As for the quantity, the shimmering skin perfectors are 0.19 oz each (compared to the 0.28 oz of the regular Shimmering Skin perfectors), the mineral blushes are 0.12 oz each (compared to the regular 0.2 oz) and “Rose Spritz” is 0.10 oz. So while you are getting less than the regular full sized items, considering all but Champagne Pop are limited edition and the lower cost of the palette, it’s a great value!

Overall, I think Jaclyn Hill & Becca did a fantastic job with this palette. It’s stunning and I highly recommend it!

It’s been a little while since I’ve done a monthly favourites video, so I thought I’d put together a video talking about my favourite products from the past month! Many of these products are new launches, and I used them in my previous tutorial which you can see here!

February and March were really about the skin focus for me – creating glowy, dewy skin and a more natural makeup look. These were my stand-out products to help me achieve that!
