There are always so many exciting new launches at Sephora, especially during May-June. This is peak time for Summer launches, and this year definitely has no shortage of newness. I put together a list of the new & hot launches at Sephora – all of which are from cruelty-free brands!

Oh boy. Where does one even begin? My wallet is practically weeping – I want everything! These are all prestige brands, so they are pricey – however, these are some of my all-time favourite brands. They are high quality, high-performance brands focusing on quality ingredients – and most importantly, they are cruelty-free (because really, it’s 2018 and testing on animals is barbaric and unnecessary!)

Products On My Radar

Powders

I’m most intrigued by the Hourglass & Marc Jacobs setting powders, as they’re rumoured to be absolutely incredible. I love using loose powder to set my makeup, especially ultra finely-milled powder as it looks the most natural and undetectable on the skin!

Lip Glosses

Lip glosses are one of the most popular trends for the summer. While this may not be particularly groundbreaking, I’m a firm believer that you can never have too many lip glosses. There are so many shades and formulas, and this season sees a surge of high-shine and metallic glosses. The Becca Glow Lip Gloss looks stunning from what I’ve seen in review videos! The Marc Jacobs Enamored Hydrating Gloss Stick has definitely sparked my interest. I love the regular glosses, so to see a new formula in a stick?! I’m not sure what to expect from this, but I shall have to investigate further!

Setting Sprays

In the sun and heat, we need all the help we can get to keep our makeup looking fresh. Setting sprays are an absolute must for me. Not only are they key to absorbing any excess powder sitting on the skin and adding a healthy glow, they also help to lock your makeup in place to prolong your makeup wear!  Cover FX recently launched the High-Performance Setting spray, and I’ll definitely be trying it once I’ve used up my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray!

It’s that eagerly anticipated time of the year – the Sephora holiday sale! If you’re a VIB Rouge member, you’ve likely already received your sale cards in the mail or eMail.

The holiday season is typically the most launch-heavy season, with endless amounts of gift sets, limited edition packaging, and holiday products. With so many exciting launches, it can be hard to decide what to buy.
For this year’s holiday sale, I cultivated a list of the most recent/noteworthy launches, along with value sets I definitely think are worth the price. These are all products I personally have my eye on – and all are from cruelty free brands (because it’s 2017, and testing on animals is cruel and unnecessary.)

Today’s tutorial is a quick Get Ready With Me! This is my go-to look, especially for the summer. It’s fast, easy, and helps make you look fresh and healthy! For me, this is a look I automatically go to when I’m in a rush or don’t feel like doing anything extravagant with my makeup.

Here are a few options to make applying this look quicker, if you’re really on a time crunch:

  • Skip the lash primer, and just apply your favourite mascara
  • Skip the liner – while this helps add some extra dimension to the eyes, it’s not always necessary!
  • Skip the cream highlight – or, just use cream highlight and skip the powder highlight. Layering definitely isn’t necessary, but if you’re a glow-addict like me, it’s just a quick extra step that helps me feel more glamorous!
  • Skip the lip liner/liquid lipstick, and opt for a nudey-pink gloss instead – this will give you a much softer, more natural look and will be much faster to apply

Becca’s newest addition is another highly anticipated collaboration with Jaclyn Hill. The Champagne collection palette has been all over social media, as her millions of followers have eagerly awaited its release.

There was an early limited release on May 17th (which sold out in 90 minutes!) before its official online release on May 26th, and its in-store release on June 16th.

The limited edition palette will be sold exclusively in Sephora stores and Sephora online, and retails for $59 Canadian ($52 USD)

The Champagne Collection Palette features 3 blushes (2 Mineral and 1 Luminous), and 2 Shimmering Skin Perfectors.

  • Rose Spritz: luminous “soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer” blush
  • Amaretto: (mineral) a “matte toasted almond” blush
  • Pamplemousse: (mineral)”matte warm coral pink” blush
  • Champagne Pop: with”soft white gold with pinky peach undertones” shimmering skin perfector
  • Prosecco Pop: “medium warm gold” shimmering skin perfector

The packaging is stunning, and I think in many ways perfectly represents Jaclyn Hill and her style. It’s chic, girly, and glamorous with it’s quite squared packaging and gold detailing. It’s one of those items you want to put on display at all times!

The pigmentation is amazing – smooth and pigmented with a soft and blendable texture. Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of the color selection, however I quickly came to love the shades. They are definitely unique, and offer a shade for each skintone which I think is fantastic. This is a stunning palette for the summer, and the shades can be blended & combined in so many different ways.

“Rose Spritz” is gorgeous, but very shimmery. If you have a lot of texture/acne, you may want to use a very light hand with this one – or use it as more of a blush booster by sweeping a tiny amount of it over another blush colour.

“Amaretto” is gorgeous as a bronzer, or as a warmer blush for medium-deep skin tones. It shows up very warm on camera, but is a bit more neutral in person.

“Pamplemousse” is a tone that is great for all skin tones and types! It looks a bit scary when swatches, but is beautiful when lightly dusted on the cheeks with a fluffy brush.

As for the quantity, the shimmering skin perfectors are 0.19 oz each (compared to the 0.28 oz of the regular Shimmering Skin perfectors), the mineral blushes are 0.12 oz each (compared to the regular 0.2 oz) and “Rose Spritz” is 0.10 oz. So while you are getting less than the regular full sized items, considering all but Champagne Pop are limited edition and the lower cost of the palette, it’s a great value!

Overall, I think Jaclyn Hill & Becca did a fantastic job with this palette. It’s stunning and I highly recommend it!

It’s been a little while since I’ve done a monthly favourites video, so I thought I’d put together a video talking about my favourite products from the past month! Many of these products are new launches, and I used them in my previous tutorial which you can see here!

February and March were really about the skin focus for me – creating glowy, dewy skin and a more natural makeup look. These were my stand-out products to help me achieve that!
