Happy New Year Everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday/Christmas, and a fantastic new years. I do have some 2015 favourites posts and a video coming soon, as well as more exciting giveaways!

To kick of the new year, I thought I would share some exciting new launches in the drugstore. Working in cosmetics, I feel as though I’ve developed a particularly strong radar for any new products. These are some that have caught my eye and that I’m eager to try!

(These are new to drugstores here in Canada, but may have already been out for weeks/months in the US or other Countries. Why is Canada always the last to get things?!)

I have picked up a few of these so far that I have been testing out over the last week!

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion: I will be doing a full review on this foundation, so I won’t go too into detail yet. However I will say that this just may be my new favourite foundation! It’s a fantastic option for drier skins, or those looking for a healthy, radiant finish! It offers natural to medium buildable coverage, evens out the skin tone very well, and happens to be a very close dupe for the Lancome Miracle Cushion foundation! If you found the regular True Match too dry, I highly recommend giving this new one a try!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss: These are so ridiculously gorgeous. They are a highly-pigmented, opaque lip gloss that feels more like a lip lacquer. I definitely disagree with the “matte” description – after all, doesn’t a gloss directly contradict the whole idea of “matte”?! Despite that, I do think they are a fantastic product. They are so rich in colour, very long lasting for a gloss, and are not nearly as sticky or shiny as many glosses out there. These are a great option for those not typically a fan of lip glosses!

Maybelline Master Precise Skinny Gel Pencil: I was instantly drawn to this, as I’ve been on a recent kick for these skinny-tipped eyeliners. I fell in love with the Clinique Skinny Sticks when they launched, and was so excited to try these as they seemed a promising dupe! The formula of these are amazing – creamy, smooth, very pigmented, and extremely long wearing. These are a a fantastic dupe for the Clinique Skinny Stick – I may even go so far as to say they’re better!! An eyeliner like this is perfect for those with smaller or more deep set eyes, tightlining, or for creating a very think, natural looking line! I love to use these underneath of liquid liner. It’s much easier to use this first and then trace over with liquid!

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer Pencil:  I’ve recently been shifting away from the strong power brow. I think 2016 will definitely follow more of a natural, “no-makeup makeup” trend. To achieve this, I think a nice thin brow pencil is best. While I do love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, I run out of the pencil so quickly that I just can’t justify spending over $20 on a brow pencil. When I saw this launching, I instantly picked one up. I think it’s a great brow pencil – not too firm, but not too soft, with a thin tip great for creating nice precise, hair-like strokes. It’s long wearing, but definitely not “I can withstand a hurricane because I’m wearing the Anastasia Dipbrow” long wearing.

What products are you most excited for?

  1. Your description of the ‘matte gloss’ is exactly what I thought in my head! Haha:) I was so confused as to what it was supposed to look like on the lips:) I’ve never tried these, but the fact that they aren’t quite as sticky makes me very excited:)
