Dior Addict Fluid Shadows – Review & Swatches

For Dior’s fall 2015 collection, they launched the incredible and innovative Fluid Eyeshadows. These ultra-pigmented liquid shadows glide on the skin for a bold and “mirror-like” metallic finish. These are limited edition, but there’s always a chance that Dior will bring them out permanently or repromote if they do well!

They retail for a whopping $32 Canadian – each! They are available in 6 shades here in Canada: (shades available may depend on what country you are located in!)

  • 025 Magnetic – a whitish silver
  • 275 Cosmic -a pink-toned purple
  • 545 Phenix – a bright, yellow gold
  • 655 Univers – a mid-toned taupe
  • 825 Aurora – a pale, champagne pink
  • 875 Destinée – a reddish/garnet

Despite the rather hefty price tag, I truly believe these are worth every penny. The texture, pigmentation, and lasting power make these one of the best eyeshadow products I have ever used in my life. This was definitely a “love at first swatch” deal for me. They are the absolute best liquid shadow formula I’ve ever experienced. They glide on the skin with phenomenal pigmentation, without looking thin, streaky, or liquidy.

I picked up the shades Magnetic, Cosmic, and Aurora! These were quick swatches, with only 1 layer each!

As for application, you have some time to work with them and blend them out before they set. They are surprisingly very easy to work with. They come with a thin precision applicator, making it easy to apply to the eyelid or to use as liner! Once they dry, they are extremely long wearing, crease-resitant, smudge-proof, and water-resistant.

These were everything that I wanted the Josie Maran Coconut Water shadows to be. I found those harder to work with, and they don’t blend out as well as the Dior Addict Fluids.

I like to apply these as a base, underneath of a powder shadow, glitter, or pigment. They look stunning on their own, but add such incredible lasting power and boldness when worn underneath!

I really hope Dior makes these permanent!!
