If you’re a skincare junkie like I am, chances are you’ve heard of the Advanced Night Repair serum. This magic little bottle has been the core of Estée Lauder for over 25 years.
Not only does it have over 25+ patents, but is actually the #1 repair serum in North America. Estée Lauder was one of the first companies to create the anti-aging category, and this serum (at the time of its first launch with the original formula) was not only the first product of its kind, but also the first product made to help repair skin from environmental assaults and aging. This product revolutionized the idea of skin care, and continues to set the precedent for repair products to this day.
So what is this serum with such significant claims? Advanced Night Repair is a repair serum usually marketed towards anti-aging, but can actually be used for all ages and skin types. It helps to fight and repair the damage caused to skin by environmental factors during the day (such as pollutants, free radicals, etc.) as well as damage caused by aging and lack of sleep at night. It “maximizes the power of skin’s natural nighttime renewal”.
It targets multiple signs of aging such as lack of radiance, loss of firmness, dehydration, and fine lines. It smooths the skin, hydrates, makes the skin look more radiant, refreshed, and youthful. It’s oil-free, fragrance free, dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, and non-acnegenic.
The recommended application (via Estee Lauder) is to apply a drop to each fingertip on one hand, press the fingertips together, and then massage all over the face and neck, starting at the centre of your face and moving outwards. A serum like this is best applied prior to your moisturizer, as it absorbs deeper into the skin and helps the skin hold on to moisture!
Key Ingredients: hyaluronic acid (moisturizer), caffeine, algae and yeast extracts (help boost cell turnover and activity), alkyl guanine transferase (helps brighten the skin).
I definitely think this product lives up to its claims. I had used it about a year ago, and then stopped after I ran out to try other products. I recently got it again, and instantly remembered how much I love it. It really does help my skin look healthier, more supple, and more refreshed. I will however advise that if you do have very sensitive or allergy-prone skin like I do, that you only use it a couple of times a week (especially if you’re younger!) It’s not that this product necessarily makes me react, but rather that if I use it every night it seems to be a bit much for my 20 year old hypersensitive skin. I prefer to use this about 3 times a week, and I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. I don’t often get enough sleep, but when I use this it helps my skin look healthier, more alive, more radiant, more hydrated and smoother.
If you’re looking for a truly brilliant skincare product that can work with any routine, I highly recommend trying this!
