June passed by in a crazy blur of work and anticipation for my nose/breathing surgery (which I briefly explained in my previous post, but will be doing a full blog post on soon once it heals more!)
I had wanted to get this post up much sooner – I hate posting monthly favourites later than the 5th day of the month, but sadly didn’t get the time to schedule this as I was so busy with work, and then of course in recovery! But I’m finally feeling like I can look at my laptop screen without my head spinning, so I take that as a sign for me to jump right back into blogging!
Here were my favourite products for the month of June:
Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette “Naked” This face palette has become an instant favourite. It comes with a gorgeous neutral pink blush, a soft highlight, and a neutral bronzer that is amazing for fair skin tones. The textures are super soft and velvety, and blend so well on the skin. It’s also perfect for travelling – I will definitely be taking it on any future travel adventures!
Lise Watier Waterproof Lip Liner in “Nude”: These have become my most-used lip liners. They are ultra-long wearing, and “Nude” is a perfect nude-pink shade. It’s very rare that I find a nude to actually go with my natural lip colour (why are most nudes brown?!?) So when I do, I quickly become obsessed with it.
Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in ‘Naked’: I have been loving this as an everyday, natural lipstick. It’s a gorgeous nude-pink (I know, I know, I’m obsessed with nude-toned pinks). It has a creamy, satin finish, and is a perfect colour to pop on the lips and go!
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector: This is in the shade #04 Petal shimmerThese are some of my favourite glosses. (They’re tied in first place with the Nyx Butter glosses). Clarins describes them as a softly textured lip gel, and I think they’re one of the best lip glosses on the market. They’re so natural looking, hydrating, and shiny. They’re not sparkly, but reflect the light in a way that makes the lips look smooth, fuller, and luscious. Plus they smell like cake, and I don’t know about you but I love cosmetics that smell like delicious foods!
Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment: This skincare product is absolutely phenomenal. I attribute most of my skin’s recent improvement to this magic night gel. I will be posting a full review of this soon, so I won’t go too in depth here, but basically it’s a gel treatment that helps retexture the skin, reduce fine lines, blemishes, and imperfections. My skin has not been this smooth since before I had acne – over 6 years ago!!
MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadow: You can read my review/see swatches of the other shades here! My current favourite is the shade “Sweet Heat” which I recently picked up. It’s a bright, peachy champagne. These eyeshadows are so beautiful, they might be my new favourite. They’re smooth, creamy, ultra pigmented, and shimmery.
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette: I have been debating this product for months. I finally caved and bought it, when I realized that unfortunately the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette has been making me break out. I’m definitely glad I made the switch – the textures of the Kat Von D palette are so creamy and finely milled, they contour and blend so well!
