Stila Liquid Lipsticks – Mixing Shades To Create All New Ones

Liquid lipsticks have taken over the beauty industry. It seems like a different brand is launching their version every month. Stila was one of the first lines to really make liquid lipsticks popular. To this day, they still remain one of the best sellers on the market, not to mention it’s one of the products they are most famous for.

The Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks are a tried and true product for me – their textures, pigmentation, and lasting-power are truly phenomenal. (Seriously. I once ate ribs while wearing “Aria.” That bad boy didn’t budge.)

They recently launched a few new limited edition shades as part of their summer collection (which you can read all about here!)

While mixing lipstick shades is definitely not a new idea, it’s something that not everyone thinks of. One of the shades, “Rosa” was actually what sparked my obsession. It’s such a difficult colour to wear on it’s own, because it’s a pale, chalky pink. But mixed with another lipstick? It’s a whole new world!

You can create so many new colours! “Rosa” is the perfect color to mix with to lighten a shade, or add a brighter effect. For any painters out there, it’s similar to adding white to other colours to make it bolder, brighter, or change the shade!

So far I really love mixing “Rosa” with “Patina”. “Patina” is such a pretty shade, but turns much darker on me. Mixing them creates a really pretty, nude-pink!

Do you mix lipsticks? What’s your favourite colour combination?

  1. The combinations you created with those lipsticks are lovely! I haven’t tried any of Stila’s liquid lipsticks, but I am really eyeing Rosa now!
