Clinique Revitalizing Lotion Review

This new watery lotion has instantly captured my heart – and my fascination. These watery, “essence” type products are huge in Asia, and are quickly spreading to North America. A big post on these is coming soon!

What it is: A thin, watery liquid lotion that has a slightly oily look and feel (but doesn’t feel oily on the skin!) This one in particular helps soothe, plump, and restore hydration and radiance to the skin. As part of the Turnaround line, it also helps to refine texture and stimulate cell turnover!

How to use: Clinique doesn’t really give a ton of information as to how to use this product. That’s because it can be used in so many different ways! While it is described as a “lotion” don’t let that trick you into thinking it’s sufficient as a moisturizer on its own. It’s more of an essence/ booster that helps the skin and boosts the efficacy of your other skincare products. Clinique says to use this after your 3 step routine (cleanse, clarifying lotion/toner, moisturizer). You can definitely try that, but I personally prefer it before my moisturizer.

I personally like to use this after my serum, and before my moisturizer. You can also apply more of it all over the face for a quick radiance/hydrating boost, let it sit for a few minutes, and then tissue off the excess!

Ingredients/Properties: It has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, as well as plant extracts from ingredients like water, glycerin, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract (a yeast compound that helps condition the skin, reduce inflammation, and stimulate tissue repair!) It’s also got caffeine (for a natural scent, and to energize cells and boost instant radiance), Centella Asiatica Extract (a herb used in Chinese medicine), and Ergothioneine (an amino acid with antioxidant benefits).

Bottomline: I am in love with this product. If you’re looking for an essence or booster step for some added benefits, especially if you’re looking for something that’s fragrance free, I highly recommend this!
