May 2015 Favourites

Here are some products that I loved during the month of May!

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion:  (review coming tomorrow!)  This new watery lotion has instantly become a new favourite as part of my skincare routine. It makes my skin so soft and radiant!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in “Luminous Bronze Light”: As with all the Ambient Lighting products, this bronzer has been all over social media. I wasn’t crazy about the tone of the other shade, but this one I am in love with! It looks luminous, radiant, and natural. A light sweep across the outside of the face makes me feel like a summer goddess!

Stila Lush Lips Water Plumping Primer: this is both a lip treatment and a primer. It’s a water-based primer that helps the lips to feel fuller, locks in hydration, and smooths lines and texture. It also helps neutralize the colour of the lips, and makes an amazing base for lipstick! I have been absolutely loving this to prep my lips for any type of lip colour!

Benefit Gimme Brow: I picked this up under the recommendation of Claudia, by beauty-loving best friend. I love pairing this with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow (my brows are sparse – I outline with the Dipbrow, and then go in with the Gimme Brow for more of a natural look!) I love how this sticks to hairs, making it look a lot more natural than many products out there. It also helps tame the brows and keep them in place.

Tarte Tarteist Clay Paint Liner: This is another product that has been all over social media. I was a little intimidated by it at first, but am so glad that I picked it up! It’s basically a more viscous gel liner that comes in a squeeze tube rather than a pot. I like the concept a lot, as I find pots always dry up too fast. The formula is opaque and dark, and doesn’t have to be constantly layer like some others out there. My only complaint with this liner is that it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of product in this tiny tube for the somewhat hefty price tag.

Lush Grease Lightning Tea Tree Cleanser: This was another recommendation from a friend. My Lush-obsessed friend Caitlyn has raved about this, and I was in serious need of a good spot treatment. It is a spot treatment, don’t let the name fool you. It’s packed with incredible anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and blemish-fighting ingredients like thyme, rosemary, tea tree, aloe, and Witch Hazel.

Clarins Ombre Iridescente #01 “Aquatic Rose” This cream-powder hybrid eyeshadow has quickly become a new favourite. Sadly it is limited from their Summer collection – but it did so well, that perhaps they’ll bring it out as a permanent shade! It’s a beautiful shimmery pink-toned beige. It looks beautiful on the lids, and works really well for a quick makeup look to brighten and highlight the eye area. I always gravitate towards shades like this in the summer!

Lise Watier Multifunction Powder Fan Brush: This brush launched initially as a limited edition item with last year’s Aurora Winter collection. Luckily it was re-promoted as a now permanent item with the Summer collection! This brush is seriously incredible. It’s a large fan brush with super soft bristles, and is perfect for applying highlighter to the cheeks!
