New: Cliniderm HydraComfort Hydrating Serum Review

cliniderm hydracomfort serum

This product is brand new to drug stores and pharmacies (I believe Cliniderm is currently only sold in Canada, but can be ordered online.) When I saw it at the boutique that I work at, I was instantly intrigued.

Cliniderm is a dermatological brand (affiliated with Neostrata-a very popular Dermatological brand) that is incredible for sensitive skin – their products are formulated without common irritants such as perfumes, dyes, parabens, lanolin, and formaldehyde. They have a whole line of irritant-free products that are ideal for sensitive skins and skin conditions such as Atopic Dermatitis (eczema), Rosacea, Psoriasis, dry skin, and Impetigo.

They also have really great shampoos and conditioners for anyone with scalp irritations/allergies!

I’ve been trying a variety of different products in the last couple of months to attempt to sooth my severely dehydrated skin (thanks, acne medication! I love having skin that feels like sandpaper!!) Since my skin has been so severely dry and dehydrated, I really needed something more than just a moisturizer. I had been wanting to try a serum for quite some time, but the majority of the serums out there tend to be scented, and more geared towards anti-aging.

In the midst of my skin crisis, I went out on a limb and decided to try a brand new product that I hadn’t heard anything about yet. I tried a small amount on the back of my hand, and instantly knew that I needed to buy it.

Let me tell you, it was like a light had shone down from the heavens. My skin has not had an irritated breakout with burning or stinging in the last 3 weeks that I’ve been using it. It helps calm, soothe, and protect the skin, while penetrating deeper than a moisturizer to really quench dehydrated skin. My dry patches have almost completely cleared up, despite my medication drying out my skin so badly. My skin feels instantly softer, smoother, and more comfortable.

I also find that this serum helps my moisturizer work better: when the skin is hydrated, the cells are more receptive to whatever else you may put on. Thus you need less product, and the skin absorbs the moisturizer much better.

I apply this after cleansing and prior to moisturizer, and my skin has been absolutely loving it.  It comes with a standard droplet applicator. I find one pea-sized drop is enough for my entire face as the serum is quite thick.

I find this applies best if you put a drop on the pads of your fingers, warm it up, and then lightly press the product into your skin.

I cannot say enough good things about this serum! If you’ve got dry or sensitive skin, and are looking for a gentle yet effect serum, I 100% recommend this.

Note: Cliniderm products are currently only distributed in Canada, but can be purchased online here. However, the new HydraComfort Hydrating Serum and Eye Contour Cream have not yet been added. Hopefully they will be soon!

I bought this serum for the first time. I saw this line of skin care products in a dermatologists’ office. I thought if it’s good enough to be in a very well to do dermatologists office, I should give it a try.
I t does feel very nice on my fingers and blends beautifully into my skin.

    …and I like it, too!
