Smashbox Santigolden Age Summer 2014 Collection

The fiercely stylish musician and artist Santi White-also known as “Santigold” teamed up with Smashbox to come out with an exclusive, limited edition summer collection! The collection features bright, vivid colours in 2 eyeshadow palettes, 2 double-ended eyeliners, 2 lipglosses, and a super-fun lipstick ring.

If you are a limited edition junkie like me, you have got to check these out. They are so fun and unique, and the colours are AMAZING!

The packaging design is incredible. It’s a funky, aztec/tribal inspired collage look designed by Santigold herself. The colours are so fun and bold, and it’s by far one of the most creative collections I have ever seen.

The Eyeshadow Collages:  These eyeshadow palettes are absolutely stunning. The packaging is gorgeously creative, with aztec-inspired artwork. Both palettes come with 5 different colours that can be blended together to create different colours. The textures are a rich, luxe velvet-like powder and can be used wet or dry.  They are very pigmented while still being beautifully blendable.

The Purple & Green palette is called “Earth As We Know It”. Smashbox describes the colours as “soft sparkling cream, kelly green, dark matte blue, raisin with rosegoldpearl, dark sparkly forest green.”

The Orange & Teal palette is called “Apocalypse Now”.  Smashbox describes the colours as “shimmery oyster, shimmery teal, sparkling pewter,  matte black, bright golden orange.”

The eyeshadow palettes are by far my favourite of the collection. I fell in love with the “Apocalypse Now” eyeshadow collage. I don’t have anything like it in my kit, and the orangey-gold and teal blue combination are so stunning, I simply could not resist!

I absolutely love the snake-skin look of the shadows. It’s so unique and creative! It was heartbreaking to swatch this, I couldn’t bare to ruin the pattern.

Double Ended Limitless Liners: How cute are these?? Smashbox describes them as long-wearing, creamy eyeliners. They are definitely not your typical colours, but I think that’s what makes them so fun. They are super bright and bold, and have Vitamin E and jojoba oil! They can also be used as a cream-like shadow all over the lid!

Be Legendary Lipstick Ring: Remember lipstick rings? I sure do, and I was so excited to see one in this collection. The ring itself is gorgeous-it’s a gold, pyramid shaped ring with a mid-toned pink lipstick inside called “Still Kickin'”.

Be Legendary Glosses: I absolutely fell in love with these as soon as I saw them. The packaging, like with the rest of the collection, is so unique. These come with chunky gold writing on one side, and a fun, black and white geometric pattern on the other.

They are lightweight glosses with a glassy finish, and are not sticky. They come in “All Gold E’rything” which is a light sandy gold with gold shimmer, and “Hot Lava” which is a light orange-red. They are vibrant not overly pigmented-they are perfect to wear by themselves for a soft look, or over lipstick for a bolder, glossy finish.

As much as I wanted to buy the entire collection, I had to limit myself to 1 eyeshadow collage and 1 lipgloss. I chose the “Apocalypse now” eyeshadow collage, and the “Hot Lava” lip gloss. I’m so excited to play around with these and see what kind of looks I can create!
