These past couple of years have really sparked a love for holidays and festivity. Christmas is without a doubt my favourite time of the year. Christmas baking, music, decorating-I love it all! I truly believe that enjoying the Christmas season and participating in it helps you to really experience the time that is passing; people often get so wrapped up in working or making money so that they can afford to buy things, that they completely miss all of the good aspects of Christmas. The excitement, the festive music and food, coziness, pretty colours and decorations, happy children, sweaters, and most importantly, spending time with your family and friends. Christmas is a time to be thankful for the things that you have, to rejoice, and to spend time with the people that you love. No matter how busy work is, or how much there is to do, I never want to forget how much fun Christmas really is!
So, in the spirit of Christmas, I thought I would make a post all about my favourite things to get, and my must-haves during the season!
Red lips: It might be cliché, but I don’t think holiday beauty would be complete without red lips. Dark red, cool red, warm red, bright red, whichever red you prefer-I just love red lips!
For long lasting, bold, classic red lips, I love:
- Mac “Russian Red”
- Revlon “Love That Red”
- Lime Crime Velveteen in “Red Velvet”
For darker, berry-colored lips, some great options are:
- Mac “Diva”
- Revlon “Black Cherry
- Revlon “Raspberry”
- Clinique “Vintage Wine”
For more of a lighter/balm-like lip product:
- Clinique Chubby Stick in “Chunkiest Chili”
- Clinique Chubby Stick in “Mightiest Maraschino”
- Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in “Romantic”
And to pair with a red lip, my favourite eye look has been frosty eyes! Read about my favourite frosty eye products here.
Fashion: Comfy sweaters, boots, mittens, and cute hats are my absolute favourite things to wear. I will do an in-depth post on my favourite things to wear during the Christmas season, but some of my favourite trends are:
- Oversized cardigans/sweaters
- Red, Black, White & Gold-my absolute favourite colours of the season!
- Statement necklaces
- Beanies/Toques/Knit hats
Candles: Christmas time would not be complete without candles, and lots of them. I personally love the sweeter, warmer scents. My favourites so far are all from Bath & Body Works:
Bath Goodies: Nothing helps combat winter chills like a warm bath! I have become hugely addicted to Lush bath products. They have an amazing holiday collection: here are just a few of their amazingly adorable bath bombs!
From Starbucks: The Caramel Brulée Latte & Gingerbread Latte are absolutely delicious and I’m trying really hard to refrain from getting one every single day!
Tea: I am currently in love with the Gingerbread Tea from David’s Tea, and Peppermint Tea!
Watching movies has become sort of a tradition for my mom and I: it’s something that love to do together and always helps us relax. This year, I decided to get a whole bunch of Christmas movies and attempt to watch a different one every night during december! Here are a few of the movies I love:
- Love Actually
- Rise Of The Guardians
- The Santa Clause (all of them)
- Polar Express
