Revlon Colorstay Foundation-First Impressions Review UPDATED

Image

I picked up this foundation during yesterday’s mini haul, as I’ve seen tons of good reviews and was looking to try out some drugstore foundations!

I chose the formula for normal-dry skin, in the shade 150 Buff. There were no testers available at the store I purchased it from, so I was a little worried that the shade wouldn’t be an exact match for my skin tone.

I decided to give it a try today, and the color matched perfectly! I applied it with my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush, in a stippling motion. Tomorrow I will try applying it with my beauty blender to see if there is any difference based on application techniques.

Typically with foundation, I have to mix the product with moisturizer as my skin is so so dry. However, this foundation went on really nicely and was extremely smooth to apply. I did notice it sticking to the dry patch on my right cheek a tiny bit, but nothing at all compared to most other products I’ve tried. I applied it without mixing the foundation with moisturizer to see how well it works by itself.

The foundation has a really nice finish, and feels almost velvety and dewey on my skin. It has medium coverage-more than a tinted moisturizer, but nothing too heavy.

I’ve had it on for about 3 hours, and it still feels and looks great. It hasn’t settled into pores or ridges, and still has a fresh texture to it.

So far, my first impression of the Revlon Colorstay Foundation is a good one! I am rather impressed with the texture and consistency, and my face doesn’t feel tight or dry. PLUS, it photographs pretty darn well!

This foundation is supposed to be long wear, so I will update this post later this evening to see how it holds up!

*UPDATE*

I tried the foundation for 4 days. It does have a nice dewey feel and lasted relatively well, but I personally found that it just didn’t have the coverage that I needed right now (I understand that this is most likely the formula, as those getting the oily skin formula as opposed to the dry skin formula have given relatively good reviews for its coverage). I would like to purchase this foundation again in the future, but as I am in between jobs right now I unfortunately need and can afford just 1 really good foundation.

My hunt for the perfect foundation continues!
